International Easter Egg Markets in Seligenstadt/Main

February 25./26. 2012 February and 3./4. of March 2012

The German Easter egg market season begins 40 days before Easter in the picturesque monastery of Seligenstadt, located between Frankfurt and Hanau on the banks of the river Main.
The first market of the season, the International Easter egg market of Seligenstadt takes place in the Landschaftsmuseum located inside the former monastery which is well known for its cultivated herb gardens.
On two successive weekends egg artists from different countries will present their magnificent works, made using various techniques.
The first market, on the 25./26 February is the showcase for 58 artists who present to the public their most recent egg creations. Be among the first to enjoy the full choice as the egg artists present their complete new collections at the opening of the season.
Here you will find exquisite modern designs, classic spring themes, fine depictions of wildlife and natural scenery – all executed in different techniques and using different materials. Whatever themes or techniques you’re interested in – you will be sure you to find them all under one roof.
Collector’s eggs, gifts, small eggs, big ostrich eggs, egg-shaped semi-precious stones, glass-bead decorated eggs... the diversity of styles is as great as the number of artists present.
Alongside with the different forms of egg - art on exhibition, you can also find here a great selection of natural eggs waiting to be painted, or.. simply admired for their  natural beauty.

In the second part of the market, on the weekend of the 3rd/ and 4th of March, you will find 55 additional artists, presenting their fascinating new collections. It is certainly worthwhile to attend both markets and view the complete selection of works from about 110 artist altogether.
